The storyline is conceptually good, but the execution not so much. The writing was amateurish - not even close to what I expect of a Lisa Jackson novel. Sappy dialogue, characters that are not developed and many that were barely introduced (just enough to be in the mix as the potential “bad guy”). Cissy had such potential (especially since we “knew” her when she was 13). Why bother with the “cheating” subplot. It added nothing, and made both Jack and Cissy unlikeable characters. Horribly disappointing sequel. I loved this book and couldn’t stop reading. It’s book two in this series, Cissy is grownup with a son. Loved not being able to guess who the killer was. Can Sissy trust in her husband? Did he really cheat? Who is killing off members of her family? Can it be her Mom? It’s a pretty twisted story and I was totally hooked from page one. Thankfully there’s a happy ever after. I highly recommend this book.
